Accountability, Awareness

What's it going to be this year? Lose 10lbs? Save $10k? Run a marathon? Have you ever actually stuck with your goal for the year? If you're like us, and the other 92% of Americans, you haven't.

Certified EOS Implementer, Chris Naylor, uncovers some scary-cool statistics which might make you rethink sticking to that goal of yours:

"Yale University researchers found that only 3% of students in a graduating class had written goals and an action plan to achieve them. Here’s what’s fascinating: After the researchers tracked those students over the next 20 years, the same 3% were earning 10 times as much as the entire 97% COMBINED!"

Committing to a goal, personally or professionally, is really tough when you don't have a plan in place. These two simple steps will help you build that plan and execute against it:

  • SMART: Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely. If your goal hits all 5, you're well on your way to completing what you've set out to do.
  • Milestones: You won't achieve this goal overnight, so step back and look at the path you've laid out. Set milestones as checkpoints along the way to ensure you're allowing the proper time, resources and dedication to achieve.
